FAQ – LAYOUT LOCATIONS
In part three of our new FAQ series, we highlight five of the best locations around the home to build a layout.

LOFTUS ROAD
Worthing Model Railway Club’s contemporary ‘OO’ gauge exhibition layout models a busy West London hotspot with plenty of modern-era passenger and freight activity.

REALITY CHECK
Whilst sharing the same nickname, British Railways’ D600 series diesel-hydraulic ‘Warships’ proved somewhat less reliable than their D800 counterparts, serving just nine years in revenue service, as Evan Green-Hughes recalls.

45C REVISITED
New bridges, a Royal Marines assault course and a 30ft extension are just some of the recent additions to this outstanding ‘OO’ gauge exhibition layout since Hornby Magazine’s last visit, as Tom Snook reveals.

RAILWAY REALISM
Evoking an air of glamour and prestige, railway PR departments have made good use of titled trains to market their services through the years, as Evan Green-Hughes explains.

STAFF PROJECTS
In preparation for some springtime running sessions, Mike Wild has been adding a few finishing touches to his Heljan ‘O’ gauge ‘Western’, with etched metal nameplates and independent lighting control.
